Carnes Hill is a small residential suburb located 38 kilometres southwest of Sydney's central business district, in the Greater Western Sydney region. The suburb forms part of the local government area of the City of Liverpool. A relatively new suburb, Carnes Hill is found between Hoxton Park to the north and Horningsea Park to the south.
As a suburb, Carnes Hill was established in 1998, as a response to Sydney's growing population and expanding outer limits. The suburb today sits in one of Sydney's most rapidly expanding growth pockets.
