History

The Cabrogal people are the traditional owners of the land that comprises Cecil Parktoday. European exploration of the district took place in the 19th century and a nearby range was named Cecil Hills. The first significant landholder in the suburb was Simeon Lord. Cecil ParkPost Office opened in 1897 and closed in 1966. The nearby Western Sydney Airport is due to open in 2026.
