Kemps Creek is a semi-rural suburb located 39 kilometres west of Sydney`s central business district, in the Greater Western Sydney region. Forming part of the local government areas of the City of Liverpool and the City of Penrith, the expansive suburb is found between Erskine Park to the north and Rossmore to the south. Kemps Creek enjoys a countryside atmosphere and proximity to Western Sydney Airport, due to open in 2026.
Following European settlement, Anthony Fenn Kemp was granted two landholdings in the district in 1810 and 1820. The suburb was named in Kemp`s honour. Kemps Creek Public School (originally known as Exeter Farm School) was established in 1885 and Kemps Creek Post Office opened in 1925. Sydney`s second major international airport, Western Sydney Airport, is found in neighbouring Badgerys Creek and is scheduled to open in 2026.
Kemps Creek is partly bounded by waterways: to the west by South Creek; and to the southeast by Kemps Creek. Open green paddocks still largely define the suburb. Kemps Creek Memorial Park is found on Western Road, and five schools operate in the suburb. A Costco depot is located in Kemps Creek`s northeast, adjacent to Horsley Park.
