Minto is a commercial and residential suburb located 38 kilometres southwest of Sydney`s central business district, in the Macarthur Region. Minto forms part of the local government area of the City of Campbelltown and is serviced by the Airport & South railway line. The suburb enjoys proximity to the expansive bushland of Holsworthy and is found between Ingleburn to the north and Leumeah to the south.
The traditional inhabitants of the area that constitutes Minto today were the indigenous Tharawal people. Following European settlement, the district developed into a farming area. Minto railway station opened in 1874. Around the 1960s Minto began to gradually transform into a residential and industrial suburb. Minto Mall was refurbished and reopened in 2014.
Minto Indoor Sports Centre and the recently redeveloped Minto Mall are located in the suburb`s centre, not far from Minto Station. Minto is largely residential, but contains a notable commercial and industrial precinct in its southwest.
